Roles & Responsibilities

An Environmental Specialist is responsible for monitoring and managing the environmental impact of operations within an organization. They conduct assessments, ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations, and develop strategies for sustainable practices. Key responsibilities include performing environmental audits, preparing reports, recommending improvements for waste reduction and resource conservation, and advising on pollution control measures. They also collaborate with various departments to implement environmental programs, handle regulatory filings, and ensure that the organization meets environmental health and safety standards.
 

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement waste management plans.

• Monitor and evaluate waste management processes.

• Conduct waste audits to identify improvement areas.

• Promote recycling and sustainable waste practices.

• Coordinate with local authorities for waste management process.

• Educate the local authorities about waste reduction and recycling.

• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations.

• Prepare reports on waste management activities.

• Investigate and address waste-related complaints.

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science or a related field.

• 3-5 years of experience in waste management or environmental services.

• Expertise in environmental pollutants and solid waste.

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of local, state, and federal waste regulations.

• Experience in waste management or environmental sustainability.

• Strong project management skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Familiarity with waste management principles and practices.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong problem-solving skills.

• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
