Roles & Responsibilities of Field Sales Representative

A Field Sales Representative is responsible for visiting clients or prospects in person to sell products or services. They build relationships, conduct product demonstrations, negotiate deals, and gather market insights to help drive business growth in their assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Engagement: Travel to meet with prospective and existing clients to build relationships and understand their needs.
  • Product Presentations: Deliver clear and compelling demonstrations of products or services.
  • Sales Generation: Identify opportunities, negotiate terms, and close deals to achieve sales targets.
  • Market Insights: Stay informed on market trends, competitor offerings, and customer preferences to refine sales strategies.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Follow up with customers post-sale and maintain ongoing communication to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Sales Reporting: Document sales activities, customer interactions, and outcomes in CRM software.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in sales or customer service, particularly field sales (preferred).
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a sales territory effectively.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred).
