Roles & Responsibilities of IT Functional Test Engineer

An IT Functional Test Engineer is responsible for validating software applications against functional requirements. They design and execute test cases, identify bugs, and ensure that applications perform as expected across various scenarios.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test Software: Check if the software functions correctly.
  • Find Issues: Spot and report any problems or bugs.
  • Create Test Plans: Make plans for testing based on requirements.
  • Work with Teams: Help developers fix issues.
  • Document Results: Keep track of test results and suggest fixes.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Testing Knowledge: Understanding of how to test software.
  • Attention to Detail: Spotting small issues or bugs.
  • Good Communication: Clearly report findings.
  • Experience: Previous software testing experience is helpful.
  • Education: A Bachelor Degree in IT or a related field is useful
