Roles & Responsibilities of Inventory Manager
The Inventory Manager is responsible for overseeing the inventory management process, ensuring accurate stock levels, efficient storage, and timely replenishment. This role involves managing inventory records, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring that products are available when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels, track inventory movements, and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Stock Replenishment: Coordinate with suppliers to reorder products in a timely manner and avoid stockouts.
- Warehouse Management: Oversee the storage, organization, and proper handling of inventory to prevent damage and loss.
- Inventory Audits: Conduct regular inventory counts and audits to ensure accuracy of stock records.
- Data Analysis: Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast needs, and optimize stock levels.
Reporting: Prepare and present inventory reports to senior management, highlighting any issues or discrepancies. - Process Improvement: Develop and implement strategies to improve inventory management efficiency and reduce waste or loss.
- Team Management: Supervise inventory staff, train new employees, and ensure adherence to inventory processes.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field is a plus).
- Experience: Previous experience in inventory management, warehouse management, or supply chain operations (3-5 years preferred).
- Skills: Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Other: Ability to lift and move stock, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills
