Roles & Responsibilities of IT Functional Test Engineer

An IT Functional Test Engineer is responsible for designing, executing, and managing functional test cases to ensure software applications meet business and technical requirements. They work closely with development teams to identify bugs, validate features, and ensure a seamless user experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Software Testing: Ensure the software operates correctly and meets functional requirements.
• Issue Identification: Detects and reports any bugs or issues during testing.
• Test Planning: Develop detailed test plans based on project requirements.
• Collaboration: Work closely with development teams to resolve issues and improve software quality.
• Result Documentation: Record test outcomes and suggest improvements or fixes.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Testing Expertise: Strong understanding of software testing processes and methodologies.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to identify small issues or bugs that could affect software performance.
• Effective Communication: Skillful in clearly reporting findings and issues.
• Experience: Previous experience in software testing is beneficial.
• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field is preferred.
