Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

An Operations Director is a senior-level executive responsible for overseeing and optimizing an organization’s day-to-day operations. This role involves developing and implementing strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and profitability across all areas of operations. The Operations Director works closely with other senior leaders, such as the CEO, CFO, and department heads, to ensure that the organization’s operational goals are aligned with its overall business objectives.

Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership

Develop and implement strategic plans for each business unit (Mechanical Projects, E&I Projects, Fabrication Shop, Offshore Field Construction, Engineering Department, and Painting Division) to align with the company’s growth objectives.
Ensure all business units are aligned with the organization’s overarching vision, mission, and strategic goals.
Serve as a key decision-maker for critical operational challenges and business development initiatives.
Oversee the Projects Planning and Controls department to ensure effective project scheduling, budgeting, and risk management across all business units.

2. Operational Oversight

Direct and manage the day-to-day operations of mechanical and E&I projects on offshore platforms and islands, ensuring seamless integration between mechanical systems and electrical & instrumentation (E&I) processes to achieve project objectives. This includes supervising installation, commissioning, maintenance, and upgrades of critical infrastructure to ensure smooth operations in challenging offshore environments.
Coordinate offshore field construction activities with a focus on the mechanical and E&I divisions, ensuring adherence to high-quality standards, strict safety protocols, and project timelines.
Lead the engineering department to sustain excellence in design, planning, and execution.
Monitor KPIs across all departments to ensure operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Ensure the Projects Planning and Controls department provides accurate and timely project data, reports, and forecasts to support informed decision-making and operational efficiency.
Optimize the utilization of the fabrication shop (including piping, structural work, pressure vessels, skid packages, and more).
Oversee effective usage and management of the painting shop.
Monitor and manage all subcontractor activities, including the hire of plant, machinery, and vehicles for offshore field operations.
Travel to offshore field to monitor construction progress and attend HSE meetings.

3. Resource Management

Strategically allocate resources across business units to meet project deadlines and budgetary constraints.
Drive workforce productivity and oversee the recruitment, training, and retention of skilled personnel.
Build and maintain strong vendor relationships and oversee procurement processes for equipment, materials, and services.
4. Financial Management

Develop and manage budgets for all departments, ensuring cost-effective operations.
Ensure that invoices are submitted monthly or as per the agreed milestones to maintain healthy cash flow and project financing.
Monitor financial performance, including profitability, cost control, and return on investment (ROI) for all projects.

5. Contract and Stakeholder Management

Oversee contract management to ensure compliance with terms, mitigate risks, and optimize project outcomes.
Act as the primary liaison between clients, senior management, and project teams to ensure transparent and effective communication.
Present operational updates, financial reports, and strategic recommendations to the senior leadership.

6. Innovation and Continuous Improvement

Foster innovation in construction, fabrication, and project management processes to enhance overall efficiency.
Identify and implement best practices to continually improve productivity, safety, and quality.

Desired Candidate Profile

Educational Background:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil).
Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field (preferred).

Experience: Minimum of 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Demonstrated success in managing large-scale offshore and onshore projects.
Experience in overseeing operations across multiple departments.
