Roles & Responsibilities of Chef

A Chef is a culinary professional responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting food. They manage kitchen staff, create menus, ensure food quality and safety, and oversee the overall operations of the kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and prepare high-quality dishes with creativity and consistency.
  • Manage kitchen staff, delegate tasks, and ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain high food quality, presentation, and hygiene standards.
  • Develop menus, control food costs, and monitor inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff to maintain efficiency.
  • Work closely with suppliers and manage food procurement.
  • Handle kitchen budgeting and reduce waste.

Requirements:

  • Culinary degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience as an Executive or Sous Chef.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety and kitchen regulations.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Creativity in menu planning and recipe development.
