A Chef is a culinary professional responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting food. They manage kitchen staff, create menus, ensure food quality and safety, and oversee the overall operations of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare high-quality dishes with creativity and consistency.
- Manage kitchen staff, delegate tasks, and ensure smooth operations.
- Maintain high food quality, presentation, and hygiene standards.
- Develop menus, control food costs, and monitor inventory.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff to maintain efficiency.
- Work closely with suppliers and manage food procurement.
- Handle kitchen budgeting and reduce waste.
Requirements:
- Culinary degree or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience as an Executive or Sous Chef.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of food safety and kitchen regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Creativity in menu planning and recipe development.
